KARACHI: Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned of very hot and dry weather during the coming week all over the country.
Following were the temperatures recorded for some cities Wednesday morning around 08:00:
Islamabad 19°C, Lahore 34°C, Faisalabad 37°C, Jacobabad 35°C, Karachi 30°C, Peshawar 25°C, Quetta 18°C, Gilgit 14°C, Murree 17°C and Muzaffarabad 20°C.
The plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Sindh will be the centre of heat where day temperatures will cross over 45°C and central parts will touch a critical level of 50°C.
Temperatures in mountainous areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azaad Jammu and Kashmir will also rise by 4-5°C above average, resulting into rapid melting of snow and glaciers.
